EDS to Serve as Subcontractor with AT&T to Provide IT Services to Federal Agencies Under GSA Networx Enterprise Contract
HERNDON, Va. – EDS will provide a range of information technology services to federal government agencies and will serve as a subcontractor to AT&T Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T, Inc., under a Networx Enterprise contract. AT&T was awarded a Networx Enterprise contract last month by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
Networx Enterprise is a companion contract to Networx Universal, awarded to the AT&T team in March. Under the Networx Enterprise contract, EDS will work with AT&T to compete for task orders for telecommunications, networking and related services. EDS will provide services similar to those offered under Networx Universal. These include security services such as managed firewall service intrusion detection, anti-virus management, secure managed email, managed e-authentication, and managed tiered security services. EDS will also provide customized design engineering, managed network services, unified messaging, and collaboration support.
“Networx Enterprise will allow EDS to work with AT&T’s team to give federal clients greater flexibility and more options for purchasing telecommunications services,” said Jim Duffey, general manager, EDS U.S. Public Sector. “As a member of AT&T’s team for both Networx Universal and Networx Enterprise contract, EDS will be able to work with AT&T to efficiently meet the needs of government clients regardless of their size and location.”
The AT&T Networx team brings together industry-leading networking and IT capabilities, which also includes Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, Va.; GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va.; SRA International, Inc., of Fairfax, Va.; Bechtel National of Frederick, Md.; and Global Crossing of Florham Park, N.J.
Networx Enterprise is an Indefinite Delivery – Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a potential value of $20 billion over the next 10 years. Networx will replace the expiring GSA FTS2001 and FTS2001 Crossover contract vehicles. The ID/IQ contract gives AT&T, EDS, its teammates, and others the right to compete for specific task orders within the scope of the Networx Enterprise contract. Networx Enterprise does not require contractors to provide services to as many locations.
