EDS Names Eazor To Lead Newly Expanded Asia-Pacific Region

PLANO, Texas - EDS today said it has named Joe Eazor, 44, senior vice president and general manager of its newly expanded Asia-Pacific region, effective immediately.

Eazor, who previously led an Asia region consisting of Greater China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, gains responsibility for Australia, New Zealand and India. Eazor and his family will relocate to Singapore.

The change is part of EDS’ ongoing efforts to simplify its structure, centralize accountability and adopt a general management approach to regional leadership.

“Asia-Pacific is critical to EDS not only as a market for information technology, applications and business process outsourcing services, but also as a base for global service delivery,” said Ron Rittenmeyer, EDS president and chief operating officer. “Joe has the right blend of operational, strategic and leadership skills to help us capitalize on the tremendous opportunities in this rapidly expanding part of the world.”

EDS Australia/New Zealand Vice President and General Manager Chris Mitchell and EDS India Vice President and General Manager Jerry Rao will now report directly to Eazor. EDS Southeast Asia Vice President and Managing Director Steve Ingram and EDS Japan Vice President and Managing Director Kerry Purcell will continue to report to Eazor. Eazor will retain responsibility for China operations until a new leader is appointed.

Eazor previously led the company’s China operations, Business Process Outsourcing unit and Corporate Strategy and Planning function. Eazor, a former A.T. Kearney vice president and global industry practices leader, has also worked with Ernst and Young as a partner and co-leader of its Strategic Advisory Services Practice. Eazor also served as a principal with AlixPartners LLC, a management turnaround and consulting firm, and as president and CEO of Springbow Solutions, a business-to-business software solutions company.

Eazor holds an M.B.A. degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago School of Business and a B.S. degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
