SOA Roundtable June 2007
03 Aug 2007
In this broad and exclusive roundtable discussion with EDS Chief Technology Officer Stan Alexander and representatives from four other leading technology services companies, The ITP Report questions these leaders and industry experts on the latest developments in the Service Oriented Architecture field. They discuss how companies like yours can gain the greatest business benefit from implementing a Service Oriented Architecture.
According to Alexander, SOA is a key enabler, but it is not as easy as simply deploying a set of software or announcing architectural standards. If you step back and consider the primary benefits you are seeking, such as business agility and better alignment of IT with the business, then you’ll see that moving from the traditional siloed application model to a shared services model is appropriate. To do so within your enterprise, you will deploy a services oriented architectural model, but at the same time you will be redefining and implementing your business processes and changing your organisation and culture in support.
