Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance Case Study
When researchers at the University of Pennsylvania wanted to take a rare neurological disease from the research phase into the treatment era, it looked to EDS to revamp the manual processes ailing its data operations. Using leading-edge Microsoft software, EDS built the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) an automated Web solution for collecting, analyzing and consolidating patient data more efficiently and accurately. We also integrated standardized clinical measures, creating a foundation of baseline data to gauge the progression of Friedreich's ataxia in patients. Researchers can now share data across multiple facilities within a secure, consolidated network. Add a revamped IT environment, along with streamlined processes to speed data analysis, and FARA is progressing rapidly toward a cure.
