PCIT System Named Computerworld Honors Program Laureate
Each year, the Computerworld Honors Program recognizes and documents visionary applications of information technology that promote positive social, economic and educational change. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, nominated by EDS, is a 2008 Program Laureate for its case study on the Phytosanitary Certificate Issuance and Tracking (PCIT) system.

- EDS was recognized with a 2007 InfoWorld 100 Award for its work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). The EDS-developed Phytosanitary Certificate Issuance and Tracking (PCIT) system was named one of the best IT projects of the year.
- The USDA APHIS has issued more than 3 million federal certificates since 2001, enabling the export of $50 billion in U.S. agricultural commodities. Read the USDA APHIS Case Study
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency awarded EDS a 60-month contract, as a subcontractor to TSeva Group, LLC, to maintain and develop applications in support of the Farm Loan Program Information Delivery System.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency (FSA) awarded EDS seven bridge contracts under the Information Technology Support Services-2 contract. EDS will provide technical support services including software development and maintenance, network management, systems security, database development and operations to support the FSA.

Suparno Banerjee is the global leader of EDS' Government Industry group. Banerjee joined EDS in 2003 with more than 20 years' experience managing information technology services in both the government and commercial sectors. He has worked with multiple governments at the national and state level, as well as with international financial agencies in telecommunications, manufacturing and distribution industries. Prior to joining EDS, Banerjee was a director with the Federal Practice of Deloitte Consulting.
